The Union Environment and Forest Ministry would simplify the procedures for exporting sandalwood and steps would be taken soon to allow the Tamil nadu Government to export a good quantity of sandalwood on its own, according to Mr.C.P. Oberai, Inspector General of Forests and Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
