An upcoming UNDP-supported project might be an answer to north Trashigang's dilemma: how to address mounting environmental problems against population pressure. On Wednesday the UNDP and Bhutan Youth Development Association(BYDA), the project implementing agency, signed a Nu 1.38 million agreement that will, for one, address forest depletion in the region's six geogs-Shongphug, Radhi, Phongmey, Bartsham, Bidung and Samkhar-by installing fuel efficient-cokking stoves in community kitchens.
