The budget of the Corporation of Cochin presented on Monday promises a host of development projects and steps to end menaces of water-logging, garbage and mosquitoes. A study report would be prepared with the support of the British government-aided Department For International Development (DFID) for preparing the geographic map of Kochi and introducing permanent building number system. Encroachments on purambokku lands will be identified and steps will be taken against them. The lands, which are not useful to the Corporation would be sold to those who occupy it now, at the market price.
