Bangalore, DHNS: The KERC proposes to fix tariff for solar PV energy at 3.40 per unit for the demonstration projects that will be set up during the 11th plan. According to a release, this tariff will be in addition to the incentive of Rs 12 per unit of solar PV energy announced by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy. For solar thermal energy also the tariff proposed by the KERC is Rs 3.40 per unit. But the incentive announced by the MNRE is Rs 10 per unit. The KERC has clarified that for solar projects other than the demonstration projects, it would deal with the tariff fixation at an appropriate stage. The MNRE would be providing incentive for installation of upto 50 MW capacity projects. And for a state, projects with an aggregate capacity of a maximum of 10 MW would be considered for support.
