Uttarakhand's Janjagriti Sangathan has filed a petition in the Supreme Court to save the forest area between Tehri and Meerut. Supreme court has accepted the petition and has raised the issues and questioned the Environment and Forest Ministry. In the petition there is an issue regarding the change in design of the towers to be constructed for laying the electricity transmission lines which will destroy the forest area.
