Members of People’s Confederation against Nuclear Energy organised a sloganeering protest here on Wednesday against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project.
The protestors said the KKNPP should be scrapped as various developed nations, having understood the dangers involved in nuclear power generation programme, had abandoned it and were switching over to non-conventional energy production.
Moreover, all cases registered against the anti-KKNPP protestors should be withdrawn, they said.
District president of Social Democratic Party of India Bismi Khaja presided over the agitation, in which local leaders of various outfits spoke.
