A group of concerned citizens are appalled by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike's shocking ways, for recently, the BMP allegedly chopped down about 50 full grown trees in its own premises on Magarath Road (Opp. Sullivan Police Grounds), to facilitate construction of a multi-storeyed car park. "What shocked us was that this operation was carried out surreptiously over the last weekend and our enquiries have revealed that the Forest Department has no information about it. In fact, some of us who work in the area came to know about it when a branch of one of the trees fell on an overhead electricity cable resulting in power cut for sometime.
