Public services in Orissa poor, says survey

The quality of public service in Orissa is bad. The users are unhappy with the behaviour of doctors, paramedics and school teachers, as alos the quality and quantity of water and raions. This was disclosed by a recent survey report prepared by the Public Affairs Centre (PAC), a Bangalore based organisation.The survey report titled The State of Orissa's Public Services: Benchmarks for the New Millennium places Orissa in the mid-range among 24 states with regard to four services, and among the last three in the case of government orad transport.The state has succeeded in providing good services with respect to primary schools where it performs significantly beter than many other states
