The Punjab Energy Development Agency, the state' nodal agency responsible for promotion nd development of non-conventional and renewable energy sources, including small hydro power projects, has identified 130 falls of various canal systems of Punjab having total estimted potential of 130 Mw.These falls are having ultra-low heads ranging from 1.5 to 3 metres and are being exploited for the first time which will be an example for the rest of the country.
