Punjab-Sindh row over border forest

  • 19/12/2000

Forest spread over 15 acres along the Punjab-Sindh (Pakistan) border has become a bone of contention between the two provinces. Each claims that the forest is situated in their territory. Last week, teams from both the provinces tried to demark the limits, but could not resolve the matter. Officials of Obaro tehsil (Sindh), including the assistant commissioner and the divisional forest officer, continued measuring the area for five hours but to no avail.
