The private sector is proposed to be entrusted the job of inspection and maintenance (I&M) checks of in-use old commercial and non-commercial vehicles in the country to control vehicular pollution. The idea is to create a network of such I&M centres throughout the country for inspection to be done by authorised private service garages.
