An earthquake measuring 5.9 in the Richter Scale rocked the entire Northeastern region for a few seconds at around 8.47 am this morning creating panic among the people who are still being haunted by the recent earthquake that devastated Sikkim. However, there were no reports of any major damage due to the earthquake which was felt across the region, including the bordering states of Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal. The epicentre of the quake was located 95 km below the earth’s surface at the India-Myanmar border to the east of Ukhrul district in Manipur, about 322 km away from Guwahati.
