Bihar Legislative Council chairman Jabir Hussain directed the State Government to request the Central Atomic energy Department to help control certain diseases among the tribals, caused by radiation from Uranium Corporaiton of India Limited (UCIL) establishment at Jadogowda in West Singhbhum . Intervening during a reply by State Forest and Environment minister Arjun Mandal, the council chairman said the pond in the adjoining area of UCIL was polluted due to radiation and the villagers were being affected by consuming polluted water.
