The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has adopted the technology to harvest rain water under the urban forestry programme by planting trees across the slopes to prevent run-off loss of rain water. The HUDA would also insist on house and apartment owners to adopt the technology by digging re-chargeable pits in their areas and allow the surface water to percolate so that groundwater table increased.
