The Karnataka State government has drawn up a massive plan for rainwater harvesting which is the only alternative answer to the ever-growing drinking water problem. Though the state spent a huge Rs 550 crore last year on water supply and management, hundreds of villages are still facing acute water shortage and the problem is assuming alarming proportion with each passing day.
