panel : An expert committee constituted by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests to study the National Forest Policy (NFP) in view of the changing national and regional scenario, has come to the conclusion that the policy, does not need major changes. The committee, under the Chairmanship of Mr. C.D. Pandeya, Inspector-General of Forests(Rtd), was constituted in October last, to suggest measures to update the NFP within the frame work of national and regional requirements.
