Apprehensive of the fact that the Government may reduce the irrigation water for farmers coming under the second phase of the Indira Ganghi Canal, under pressure from the farmers in the first phase, the former have launched their counter-agitation. These farmers on Monday organised dharnas at all the major mandis and towns in Bikaner and Jailsalmer districts, which fall under the second phase of the canal. The biggest rally was held at Bajju, near Bikaner, where it was decided to form an all-party action committee, to carry out the agitation.
