Ruling MLAs on Thursday cornered the Rajasthan government over alleged illegal land use change in the industrial area in Kota. The BJP MLA from Kota North, Prahlad Gunjal, raised the question related to land allotment in Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) in Kota during the question hour. In his reply, Industry Minister Gajendra Singh said there is no provision to change land use from industrial to residential and no such conversion took place in three industrial areas established in Kota district in the last 10 years. Expressing dissatisfaction over the reply, Mr Gunjal alleged that a builder in connivance with some officers got the industrial land changed to residential and illegally constructed 500 flats. He demanded action against the officers and a specific reply from the Minister. Another BJP MLA Heeralal Naagar also raised a similar issue. However, the Speaker did not allow his question.
