In an attempt to convert desert and other areas into prosperous green belt, the Rajasthan government has decided to attract private investment and formulated a policy to encourage setting up of agro-based industrial projects on the wasteland. Rajasthan has the largest area of 52 lakh hectare of cultivable wasteland in the country.
