With the increasing use of barytes in the oil drilling, pains and paper industry, the Rajasthan government, of late, is waking up to raise its production in the state. Rajasthan is next to Andhra Pradesh in the country which has a few good baryte mines. Unlike Andhra Pradesh where the entire mining of barytes is being done in the state sector, Rajasthan is permitted mining by private sector and the results have been quite satisfactory.
