Rajasthan signs MoU to build railway bridges

The Rajasthan Government's urban bodies signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Ircon International Limited, a railway undertaking, for construction of 12 railway over-bridges and under-bridges across the State here over the weekend.
Addressing the MoU signing ceremony, Principal Urban Development Secretary G. S. Sandhu said a total of 26 railway bridges would be constructed in the State at a cost of Rs.1,000 crore. Of the 12 ROBs and RUBs for which MoUs were signed, six would be constructed in Jodhpur district, three in Alwar and one each in Ajmer, Kota and Hanumangarh.
Besides the representatives of Ircon International Limited, Jaipur Development Authority Additional Commissioner Shuchi Sharma, Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Anandi and officers of the Urban Improvement Trusts of the district concerned signed the MoUs.
The progress of the ROB projects for which the agreements were earlier signed was reviewed at the meeting. Mr. Sandhu said the detailed project reports on new railway bridge proposals, including those for Mohanpura bridge in Jodhpur and in Nagaur and Bharatpur districts, would be prepared shortly.
Mr. Sandhu said the State Government would send new proposals to the Railway Board for its approval.
Among others, Local Bodies Director Tarachand Meena, Jaipur Development Authority Commissioner Kuldeep Ranka and Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Finance and Development Corporation Project Director Vaibhav Galria were present on the occasion.
