The Magsaysay Award winner, Rajendra Singh, has termed the new National Water Policy, announced on the first of this month at the National Water Resource Council meeting in New Delhi, a "big let down" of the people of the country. "It is a victory for the IMF, the World Bank and the multinational corporations which want to trade on this otherwise common natural resource", he said in Jaipur.
