Rajiv Gandhi thermal plant progressing well

The Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant at Khedar in Hisar is progressing well, said Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while inaugurating a 33 KV sub-station in Sector 10 in Rewari. Hooda said a massive plan has been implemented to get 5,000 MW of additional power in the state. The construction work at the thermal power project at Jharli, Jhajjar, was also progressing well. The Haryana government has tied up with various companies in Orissa and Gujarat to buy 2,000 MW power. He said the 600-MW Sir Deenbandhu Chhotturam Thermal Power Plant had already started generation. An atomic power plant is also proposed to be set up at Fatehabad. The CM said power transmission and distribution system was also being augmented in a big way. The government has planned to construct 132 new sub-stations of various levels.
