Rampant tree felling in many sanctuaries in Kerala has once again caught the Forest Department napping. Under the cover of the monsoon which swept the higher altitudes of the State, hundreds of trees in reserve forests and private estates were cut down. In some places like Ponmudy and Idamalayar felling is still on, it is learnt.
