Region agrees to fight fires causing pollution

Southeast Asian nations agreed to help each other tackle the land and forest fires that have periodically blighted the region's agriculture and cherished tourist industries with chucking clouds of smoke. The disastrous consequences of the previous haze episodes should be enough reason to now bring about concrete action from all those concerned to break whatever bureaucratic inertia there exists. Malaysia's deputy prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, said.
