Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Urban Development Minister Dr A K Walia will soon meet Union Urban Development Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in connection with the regularisation of 1,432 unauthorised colonies. These colonies have cropped up everywhere, whether it's public land or private. A highly-placed source said that Union Urban Development Ministry has sought a meeting with Ms Dikshit to discuss their proposed regularisation. The Delhi Government wants the regularisation to be done the way it had happened in 1976-77 under the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, but the Central Government had refused to accept the proposal due to "practical difficulties".
