The Union Urban Development Ministry and the Delhi Government finally looked to be moving towards a consensus on the vexed issues of regularisation of the unauthorised colonies and conversion of certain residential areas into industrial estates. Urban Development Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had an hour-long deliberation with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on the need for an amendment in the city masterplan and review the existing list of 1071 unauthorised colonies to overcome the anomalies.
