Relief amount allotted to crop-hit farmers of 9 districts

The state government has allotted funds amounting to a total Rs 2 crore 83 lakh for paying relief to the people in nine districts. These nine districts are Sagar, Panna, Raisen, Shivpuri, Badwani, Rajgarh, Mandsaur, Burhanpur, and Alirajpur. Relief amount of Rs 1 crore 10 lakh to the farmers of Sagar district and Rs 1 crore 6 lakh and 49 thousand to farmers of Panna district has been allotted for damage to the crops. Among other districts, Rs 35 lakh has been allotted to Raisen district, Rs 10 lakh each to Shivpuri, Rajgarh and Mandsaur districts, Rs 8 lakh to Badwani district and Rs 2 lakh each to Burhanpur and Alirajpur districts. The state government has constituted a committee to review the damages caused by natural calamities, damages to farmers through crop failure and snake bite. The committee also looks after the Disaster Relief Fund and National Disaster Emergency Fund. The committee is headed by the Chief Secretary and it allots fund to the districts as per demand received from the districts.
