Relief from plastic garbage: Petro product plant to be set up

Plastic garbage is playing havoc with mother earth. From villages to cities plastics are being used in such a way that the whole country seems to be a heap of plastic garbage. A Nagpur based company has taken initiative to use plastic garbage in producing petro products. Dr Jhadgaonkar related to this company, gave information to municipal corporation and MP Pollution Control Board officials about the scheme of converting plastic garbage into petro products. Earlier, this scheme went to bite dust due to the negligence of officials. Now, the work of implementing this scheme has started. Soon a contract would be signed with this private company. This scheme would start from Bhopal. Later it would be implemented in Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur. Plants to convert plastic garbage into petro products would be established in these cities. This plant would convert 5 ton plastic garbage into petro products. As per Central and state laws, proper management of plastic garbage is essential. There is provision of punishment on violation of these rules. Private company claims that the petrol from plastic garbage would be of better quality. After establishing plant in Bhopal there is hope of 90 ton petrol, 30 ton gas and same quantity of petro coke would be produced. Bhopal produces 550 metric ton garbage including 150 ton plastic garbage. On an estimate 3 ton petrol, 1 ton gas and 1 ton petro coke can be produced out of 5 ton plastic garbage. Madhya Pradesh would be the first state where such a plant is to be established. On trial basis such a plant has been established at Nagpur. Municipal Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board have jointly agreed for maintenance of this plant. Municipal Corporation and private company would take equal benefit after production starts. Every citizen would have to be alert and aware towards disposal of plastic garbage.
