The Delhi High Court has issued strict orders to the civic agencies to clear all encroachments in and around Jama Masjid.Giving time to the authorities to submit a report in this regard by September 15, the court held, in the event of failure to comply with the court's orders, the heads of all the agencies will remain personally present in court.Pursuant to its orders dated July 14, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Wakf Board and Archeological Survey of India (ASI) presented a status report before the court describing the efforts carried out in the past fortnight since the order of this court. The Division bench of Chief Justice BC Patel and Justice SK Kaul, while taking into account the minor repairs carried out by ASI inside the Jama Masjid structure, was not satisfied by the progress made by MCD and DDA.
