A new report says forest conservation funds should be focused on 15 key countries where 80 percent of the planet's remaining, critically important forests are located. The report, described in an August 20 press release by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), says that forests around the globe remain under increasing threat despite numerous international conferences, conventions and agreements aimed at protecting forest resources.
