Residents of St. Lucia's Street yesterday complained that their sewerage lines had been blocked for some time. They charged that the CMC authorities had not attended to it although they were informed. One resident in the area who did not want to be named said that they were going through a severe hardship due to the unbearable stench in the area. A senior engineer from the CMC when inquired by the Daily Mirror mentioned that they have received a complaint from the residents and the matter would be attended as soon as possible. The Engineering Department of the CMC recently came to a standstill following a rift between a Municipal Councillor and an engineer recently where all workers of the council staged a token strike.
