Residents move to save water body

Vasant Kunj residents have raised their voices against the government's "apathy" in constructing a flyover near a natural water body, Neela Hauz. The residents fear the flyover would render the water body dry. The residents want to monitor the construction of the flyover so as to save it.
Connecting the Indira Gandhi International Airport with Mehrauli-Mahipalpur road, the flyover is being constructed by the PWD over the "Neela Hauz" spread over 16,000 sq. km in Vasant Kunj.
The residents fear that by the time the bridge will be completed, the critical aquifer will die as the contractors have already started filling the lake with mud and building material to erect the pillars for the flyover.
