Residents of BEST Nagar in Goregaon (west)(Mumbai) have alleged that nearly 20 trees in their compound were chopped by the representatives of the housing societies in the area in the last few days under the pretext of trimming. The BEST Nagar co-operative housing societies union, the committee which oversees maintenance work of the 26-building colony, has denied the charge and said only branches were hacked with prior permission from the civic authorities.
