The successful implementation of panchayat raj and gram swaraj has paved the way for integrated development of people, especially those belonging to downtrodden and exploited sections and women in Madhya Pradesh. This will enable the state to scale new heights of development while strengthening the roots of democracy. A resolution to this effect was passed to the president/vice presidents of district and janpad panchayats at their state-level convention at Guna today. The panchayat representatives resolved to strike at the inertia in the system and to further streamline panchayat system. They expressed their commitment to making welfare programmes a success.
