The Coorg Deputy Commissioner (DC) has directed the Forest and Revenue Departments to acquire 12 acres of an island in the Dubare forests, Somawarpet taluk, Coorg district, Karnataka, where a religious institution took up construction work, claiming propriety over the property. The land belongs to the Government and the Revenue and Forest Department should take action to acquire the land. The building, being constructed on the land is illegal. The Forest Department should use the building for suitable purposes.
