The stones and heavy boulders on the riverfront near Taj Mahal are posing an environmental threat to the "greatest monument of love". The stones that lay for the controversial Taj Heritage Corridor Project right behind the Taj on the riverfront, have not been removed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Experts felt that the stones lying on the riverbed are impeding the flow of the river and thus affecting the very foundation of Taj Mahal. ASI, the keeper of the protected monuments, has not done much to remove the debris.
