RRDA to construct 3,000 kilometer long roads under Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Rural Roads Development Authority (RRDA) has started work to construct 3,000 kilometer long gravel roads in the state under Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna. These roads will be built in 12 districts of the state including Morena, Bhind, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, Rewa, Hoshangabad, Harda, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Narsinghpur and Sagar till December 2013.
This important responsibility has been entrusted to the Authority only a few months ago. After completion of detailed project report of all-weather roads to be constructed under the second and third phases of Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna, now process of inviting tenders in underway. So far, tenders for construction of 1980 kilometer long 891 roads have been approved.
Special teams are being constituted on the instructions of Principal Secretary Panchayats & Rural Development to ensure quality in these works.
These teams will inspect roads from time to time. Quality of roads will be monitored by District Project Officers.
