Rs 100cr for Anantapur

Anantapur, Sept. 1: Local MLA, Mr B. Narayan Reddy, said that efforts were on to develop the town with Rs 100 crore. Speaking at the Praja Darbar programme, the MLA said that Rs 70 crore was already released in this regard. He added that these funds would be used for beautification of the town within six months. He said that all eligible applicants were given houses, housing plots and pensions under the Indiramma scheme. He said that so far 1,600 houses were constructed and they were in search of 300 acres close to the town for housing plots. When asked by a few women, he said that it was not possible to issue pattas for lands belonging to Endowments as per the orders of the High Court. The mayor, Mr Parashuram and Deputy Mayor, Mr Sriramulu, praised Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, for fulfilling all the promises made. The leaders called on people to make Ms Sonia Gandhi's meeting on September 1 where she would issue housing plots to poor people, a success.
