The Haryana Government has decided to spend about Rs.1,058 crore on development of roads, bridges and buildings during the current financial year against an allocation of Rs.695 crore last year. The state government also decided to reactivate its Roads and Bridges Corporation by appointing a full-time managing director. Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda directed the financial commissioner and principal secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Dept, Dharamvir, to ensure that senior department officers personally visit sites and oversee progress. A forthnightly progress report should be submitted by him to the minister concerned.
