The Haryana State Government is negotiationg with the European Union (EU) for a Rs. 126-crore assistance for its "community forestry" project in Aravalli hills bordering Rajasthan to further expand the green belt in the region. "With a Rs. 150-crore EU aid, the forest cover in the hills was expanded from a 2,200 hectares a few years ago to 31,886 hectares," the State Minister of Forest, Mr. Jagdish Yadav, told newspersons here on Thursday.
