Rs 15,738-crore plan for urban development

The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has formulated the City Development Plan with an outlay of Rs 15,738 crore. The development plan will be implemented by the proposed Hyderabad Metropolitan Authority (HMA). It will get funds for implementing the plan from the Centre under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). After getting the approval of the MCH Standing Committee, it will be placed before the MCH council for ratification. The Centre has launched the Urban Renewal Mission to develop infrastructure in fast growing cities. Hyderabad is one among the cities identified for implementing the mission. Several infrastructural projects will be executed during the seven-year period of the mission.
