Rs 1,600-crore tourism project in final stage

The sanctioning of Rs 1600 crore integrated tourism development project for Kangra and Chamba districts, Himachal Pradesh is in the final stage. The project entails the developing of the International Ramsar Wetland in the Pong reservoir on the foothills of the Kangra valley as a circuit tourism point. Mr Chander Kumar, MP, Kangra parliamentary constituency, while talking to The Tribune at Jawali PWD Rest House today informed that the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest had submitted the project to the wetland board, a wing of the Environment Ministry asking it to finance the project or get it done through external agencies.
