Rs 312 crore major irrigation project sanctioned for Mohanpura

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Mohanpura major irrigation project will be constructed and an irrigation reservoir will be built at Gorakhpura. The Mohanpura project will cost Rs 312 crore and irrigate 50 thousand hectare land in 80 villages. Shri Chouhan was addressing a function at Khujner in Rajgarh district today after dedicating and performing Bhumi Poojan of irrigation reservoirs and unveiling a statue of Pandit Deendyala Upadhyaya. Area MLA and public representatives were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister also announced Rs 50 lakh sanction for Khujner township's development.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that an irrigation reservoir will also be constructed at Gorakhpura at a cost of Rs 18.50 crore. A survey will be conducted to build a stop-dam across Navej-Kali Sindh river. Khujner's school will be converted into a model school. On the demand of girls to upgrade their school, the CM said that all the proposals regarding upgradation will be studied. Apart from opening a 100-seater hostel, an I.T.I. will also be set up at Khujner.
Shri Chouhan said that one lakh teachers will be recruited next year with a view to dealing with the problem of unemployment. Recruitment against vacant posts in all the departments will also be made. Priority will be given to the local people in the recruitment to new industries. The Chief Minister said that a Panchayat of senior citizens will soon be held at Bhopal, where their problems will be redressed. He said that skill development centres will be set up for villages by making a group of 10 to 15 villages. Shri Chouhan informed that 35 thousand applications for old age pensions had come from Rajgarh district out of which 21, 000 applications have been sanctioned. The benefit of Mukhyamantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana is being given to 10,000 labourers of the district. Feeder separation is being undertaken with a view to improving power supply. This work will be completed by January 2013. Shri Chouhan also unveiled a road built at a cost of Rs 42 lakh and 24 reservoirs constructed by the Water Resources Department at a cost of Rs 40 crore 63 lakh. He also performed the bhumi poojan of Badlawada reservoir water augmentation project, construction of a stadium under I.D.S.M.T. scheme, construction of vegetable wholesale market at Khujner and construction works of Gorakhpura, Rojya and Mor Peepli reservoirs. The Chief Minister distributed handcarts among 21 beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Haaththhela Chalak Kalyan Yojana apart from distribution of livelihood loan grant to Village Uplift Committees formed in 22 villages under District Poverty Initiative Programme. He gave away cheques worth Rs 2 lakh 80 thousand to 28 beneficiaries of National Family Assistance Scheme, cheques worth Rs 55 thousand to 11 beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana and Rs 3.50 lakh to 70 beneficiaries under the schemes of Building and other Construction Workers' Welfare Board and savings certificates worth Rs 60 thousand to 10 girls under Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
