The Orissa Government will immediately disburse outstanding compensation to the tune of Rs 36 lakh to the families displaced for the Hirakud dam project, said Ramesh Chandra Chau Pattnaik, chairman of the house committee on submissions. Addressing the mediapersons at Ashok Niwas at Burla, he also said that the Government would provide land pattas to the displaced residing in different rehabilitation villages. Similarly, the rehabilitation villages, which are not yet categorised as revenue villages, would be converted into revenue villages at the earliest.
