Andhra Pradesh has submitted a Rs 60 crore scheme to the Centre for effectively tracking and controlling forest fires, mostly of a wild nature, conservator of forests KDR Jayakumar said on Wednesday. He said at a meet-the-press programme that the measures involved building of watch towers and educating the people, particularly the tribals, under the 'Vana samrakshana samithis' under the World Bank sponsored joint forest management concept.
