Rs 75 crore for capital city development

The Kerala State Government has earmarked Rs 75 crore for the capital city development programme in this year's budget. Finance Minister K Sankaranarayanan said in his budget speech that the programme was designed to restore the socio-economic vitality of the city and help the city take her rightful place among the growing metropolises of the country. This project will combine schemes for the improvement of city roads, water supply augmentation, solid waste management, bus terminus, sewerage and surface water management, Theerapatham and several other critical urban renewal schemes.
