Rs 981-crore for development of Kochi infrastructure

With the Cabinet deciding to take up the infrastructure development of three cities in Kerala, Kochi is expected to get Rs 981 crore for infrastructure development from the Central-aided Urban Renewal Project. The fund will be utilised as soon as the works in Kochi are included in the first phase. Chief Secretary Babu Jacob, who will retire from service by the end of this month, who has been made advisor to the government on urban renewal and external aided projects had already held discussions for infrastructure development. The State Government will get Rs 22,000 crore for various urban renewal projects in the state.
