Rs.2.77 cr additional allotment for Frost-Hit Farmers

The State Government has released additional allotment of Rs. two crore 77 lakh 32 thousand for frost-affected farmers in Damoh, Sagar and Sidhi districts. Of this, an amount of Rs. one crore 41 lakh 87 thousand has been allocated to Damoh district, Rs. one crore four lakh 52 thousand to Sagar and Rs. 30 lakh 92 thousand to Sidhi district.
It may be mentioned that frost has affected badly to the Rabi crop in the state in January this year. Out of 50 districts, 46 are frost-affected. Frost-hit farmers are distributed relief continuously. The work of providing relief to frost-hit farmers is in the last stage. As government is determined to pay relief to every frost-hit farmer, fresh instructions have been issued to continue accounts in the name of tahsildars till June 30, 2011. The Collectors have been asked to ensure timely completion of distribution work.
