Rs.3.90 cr in Rajouri for development

An expenditure of nearly Rs 3.90 crore has been incurred in district Rajouri till July of current fiscal. This was disclosed and a meeting of all sectoral officers held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Sheikh Rafiq Ahmed. While reviewing the sector wise physical and financial achievements made during the period the DDC was informed that our of the total expenditure Rs.3.71.35 lakh stood expended under District Plan while Rs. 18.11 lakh spend on centrally sponsored schemes during the period . In physical side 52, 390 hectares have been covered under Agriculture Sector thereby distributing 1516 quintals of high bidding variety seed of paddy, maize, wheat, pulses, oil seed, fodder and vegetable across the district. For yielding bumper crop the Department of Agriculture has distributed 1986 tones of chemical fertilizers among the farmers. 4.87 quintals departmentally and 100 quintals privately honey has been produced. 308 hectares area has been covered under plant protection in the Horticulture sector. 30500 plants have been laid in departmental nursery while 12,000 sisal plants have been planted by the soil conservation department. In animal husbandry 86000 cattle have been dosed while vaccinations were conducted on 4287 animals. Similarly, under sheep sector 1.72 lakh dosings and 1.35 lakh sheep population was dipped in the district. DDC impressed upon the officers to accelerate the pace of development and implement welfare schemes for the larger interest of general public. He said lapses in any sector will not be tolerated at any cost. He said that officers should activate their field functionary for yielding encouraging results while executing development works.
